Streaming services account for 67% of total music industry revenue as of 2023. 

Basically, artist make money when their music is played on streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple music, Pandora, Deezer, Youtube and in other music streaming platforms. 

On a pay-per-stream basis, Spotify pays out an average of $0.0049, while Apple music pays $0.0076 depending on the nationality of the artist. 

In 2022, music artists make a whopping amount of $17.5 billion from all streaming platforms compare to about $8.6 billion generates from physical performance, performance rights, downloads and sychronization.
