Nigeria’s Non-Oil Revenue Performance: A Target for the Present Administration

Nigeria’s Non-Oil Revenue Performance: A Target for the Present Administration

Nigeria's non-oil revenue has been an integral source of revenue for the Nigerian government since the rule of democracy in 1999. In the Q1 of 2023 alone, the non-oil sector has contributed more than 93% to the economy.

The Nigerian state has had five ruling presidents since 1999 to date and based on performance in terms of revenue generated in the non-oil sector, the last administration under Muhammadu Buhari generated the largest revenue so far between 2015 to 2022.

Based on the current expectations of the newly elected president, do you think President Bola Tinubu could surpass the target set by his predecessors?
