The "Africa Visa Openness Report 2022" sheds light on the varying degrees of travel restrictions within Africa, revealing some surprising findings. Topping the list as the most accessible destinations for Africans were Benin, Seychelles, and the Gambia, with visa-free entry granted to citizens from an impressive 53 African countries.
On the other end of the spectrum, Libya and Equatorial Guinea presented a more restrictive landscape, allowing visa-free entry to only one African nation, while 52 others required visas for travel. Also in Sudan, only two African nations required a visa on arrival while 51 others required a visa. This stark contrast highlights the disparities in travel openness
The sentiment among many Africans remains that travelling within the continent can be more challenging than venturing outside of it.
