      In the African construction industry, the ownership, funding, and building of major projects are influenced by several key players. The government plays a significant role in this sector, owning approximately 73.80% of construction projects, indicating the prevalence of public infrastructure development. Government funding also contributes substantially, with 31.40% of financial support coming from state coffers. When it comes to construction, China is a prominent builder, being responsible for 27.10% of projects on the continent, reflecting China's active involvement in African infrastructure development.

       

      Consortiums, which may include a mix of public and private entities, own 10.60% of construction projects and provide funding for 21.60% of these initiatives. Private domestic entities own 8.90% of construction projects and fund 10.60% of them, underscoring the involvement of local businesses in the industry. Additionally, private domestic companies play a significant role in construction, being responsible for 25.30% of building projects, while European Union (EU) countries fund 11.50% of projects, illustrating international participation in African construction
