Egypt Invested More in Greenfield Projects Than Other African Regions by Value in 2022

 
Greenfield investments are a form of foreign direct investment where a parent company starts a new venture in a foreign country by constructing new operations from the ground up. 

In Africa, Egypt is the top destination for foreign investors announcing about $107.49 billion in greenfield projects, a figure that tripled the investment announced in all other regions in Africa. 

The country is focused on attracting greenfield investment rather than selling government assets and making an effort to promote public-private partnership projects.
