South Africa Owns Five Of The Most Expensive Diamonds In The World As Of 2023

 
Diamond mining is worth about $81.4 billion per year with 65% of global production sourced from Africa. 

The largest diamond ever found which is the Cullinan (3,106 metric carats) is the most expensive diamond in the world worth an amount of $400 million and owned by South Africa. 

India owns the second most expensive diamond in the world known as the Hope which is worth about $350 million, followed by South Africa's diamond De Beers Centenary worth $100 million. 

South Africa owns 6 of the most expensive diamonds in the world, while India owns 2 and Botswana which is the first diamond-producing country in Africa owns only 1 known as Graff Lesedi La Rona worth $53 million.
