
Women make up a substantial portion of the agricultural workforce worldwide, yet they often face numerous barriers that hinder their productivity and limit their access to resources and opportunities.
Only a few countries have a national policy in place to support women farmers and improve their access to much-needed inputs and finances.
The Global Food Security Index (GFSI) scores North America the highest in terms of its effort to support women farmers. Sub-Saharan Africa also performs relatively well. However, the Middle East & Europe ranked the lowest according to the GFSI index.
